Het werd een Amsterdams Uitje vandaag: het hele 'team Nieuwezijds' ging naar An Moonen in Westervoort voor de tentoonstelling van haar antieke quilts. En dat was smullen!
Today was a 'team Nieuwezijds' day, the girls from both shops went to Westervoort to see the quilts from An Moonen.
An Moonen
Antieke top uit Noord-Holland. Deze heeft hetzelfde motief als de quilt van het Quiltersgilde. Hij heeft de tand des tijds niet zonder schade doorstaan, maar je kunt nog goed de stoffen zien.
This is an antique top from the northern part of Holland. It has the same design as the antique quilt that is owned by the Dutch Guild. It is damaged but you can see the fabrics very well.
Dat blauw...that blue
De hexagonnen quilt is niet gequilt, alleen gevoerd aan de achterkant. Toen ze hem kreeg vond ze hem zo kraken. Bij nader onderzoek bleek de achterkant helemaal beplakt te zijn met cellotape...
The hexagon quilt is not quilted, when she got it she noticed that it made noise. When she had a close look she saw that it was repaired with cello tape...

en terug in de auto lag er voor ieder van ons ineens een héél toepasselijk lapje voor een paar kwebbelende vrouwen :-) op de stoelen...
